This track features my favourite drum sound I've ever captured, and my favourite vocal chain: AKG C414 → Neve 1073 → Warm Audio 1176. I actually used the 414 on three different instruments for this track - my favourite mic!

This track was my first foray into one of my now favourite production techniques: automating saturation and tremolo as a way to create momentum in between sections (or even in between lyrics).

Recorded and produced in about two hours, the goal was to create an EP intro track that soundtracks your walk on a sunny day. I accidentally dragged the hi-hat loop into Logic offset by an 8th note, but I liked the way the groove worked better, so I kept it.

My favourite of my three solo releases! The inspiration was Pinegrove's "in the room" aesthetic. I used the same stock Logic reverb on almost every instrument. It sounded good so I ran with it.

My approach to recording and producing this was restraint — have a few high-impact parts, instead of layering lots of smaller parts, which is an approach I employed on Begging For Cupid, for example.
